Investigación sobre el patrimonio inmaterial en America Latina y DDHH, con Crespial

The UNESCO Chair participates in the research project led by the CRESPIAL Centre, the Regional Centre for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Latin America. CRESPIAL is a Category 2 Centre under the auspices of UNESCO. It brings together 19 Member States committed to the protection and promotion of the region’s living heritage. Through its Technical Secretariat, it fosters cooperation, knowledge exchange, and the strengthening of public policies to safeguard the cultural diversity of Latin America.

The research project, which began last year (2025), anticipates the participation of Professors Francesco Vigliarolo and Estefania Solari from the UNESCO Chair. It plans to hold bi-weekly meetings and involve UNESCO Chairs from other Latin American countries and research centres, with the aim of investigating the intangible cultural heritage of Latin America. The UNESCO Chair is focusing on the economic dimension and has so far written a chapter developing the theoretical foundations of the relationship between economics and intangible heritage necessary for analyzing the case studies to be undertaken. The research is expected to conclude in December 2026.
