Those students willing to take undegraduate programs in our University shall follow the following regulations:
1. Contact the Department of International University Relations through his/her university of origin to take courses at the UNLP;
2. Apply on the fixed dates via the application form on the Web so as to evaluate his/her possible admission;
3. Once the selection for admission has been completed, the UNLP shall inform the university of origin, which in turn will send the UNLP the student admission file on the date fixed by the UNLP;
4. If admitted, the student should contract a health and accident insurance valid for the Republic of Argentina and effective for the period of stay in our institution;
5. The student should inform the Department of International University Relations, in advance, the date of arrival in Argentina;

A visa can be obtained in two different manners depending on whether the student applies for a visa in Argentina or in his/her country of origin. To see what kind of visa that applies to each country, visit:

Visas from the country of origin *
Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter III, Section VIII, Resolution 20699-06 of the National Migration Office of the Republic of Argentina, EXTRAMERCOSUR students, from countries requiring a visa to enter the country should proceed as follows:
At the UNLP:
1. Inform the Consulate where he/she will apply for the visa;
2. Make a money transfer for $200 (Argentine pesos) for the migration fee so that the UNLP can request his/her access to the country.
At the corresponding Consulate:
1. Acknowledge identity by a valid and effective passport;
2. Present a “No Criminal Records” certificate from his/her country of origin or from the countries where he/she has been living for the last FIVE (5) years. In case the foreign country does not issue this kind of certificate, it should issue any certificate upon said matters, pursuant to local regulations;
3. Present evidence of sufficient economic means to live on and for boarding in Argentina. If accommodation is provided by a third party, the student should communicate this to the National Migration Office after entrance in Argentina;
4. Be aware that his/her entrance in Argentina is to the sole effect of taking courses of the formal Program of choice or partially attend a non formal course for which reason he/she applied for a residence visa;
Visas from Argentina*
Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter III, Section VIII, Resolution 20699-06 of the National Migration Office of the Republic of Argentina, EXTRAMERCOSUR students, from countries not requiring a visa to enter Argentina as tourists, may apply for their residence in the REPUBLIC OF ARGENTINA within THIRTY (30) days as from their entrance to the country. For that purpose, they should present the following documents to the National Migration Office:
1. Certificate of enrolment issued by the official academic unit;
2. A valid and effective Passport;
3. A “No Criminal Records” certificate from his/her country of origin or from the countries where he/she has been living for the last FIVE (5) years duly attested by the corresponding Argentine Consulate abroad, o bearing the Apostille. In case the foreign country does not issue this kind of certificate, pursuant to local regulations, the prospective student should submit a consulate certificate indicating that fact;
4. A “No Criminal Records” certificate of the REPUBLIC OF ARGENTINA issued by the ARGENTINE FEDERAL POLICE or by the NATIONAL REGISTER OF RECIDIVISM, MINISTRY OF JUSTICE AND HUMAN RIGHTS;
5. Pay the corresponding migratory fee **
* In all cases, the official documentation shall be translated into Spanish, if required.
Pursuant to Section VIII, and Section 24, Paragraph h), Act 25871, all foreign individuals shall be granted a special temporary residence. The authorized length of stay shall be ONE (1) year, unless the duration of the studies or partial courses take a shorter time, in which case, the term of residence shall be that of the studies or partial course duration.
Pursuant to Section II, Resolution 20699-06 of the National Migration Office of the Republic of Argentina, those students coming from the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR) and their affiliate states, shall apply for residence at the National Migration Office within THIRTY (30) days as from their entrance to the country. presenting for that purpose, the following documents:
1. Certificate of enrolment issued by the official academic unit;
2. A valid and effective Passport; an effective ID or a Certificate of Citizenship;
3. A “No Criminal Records” certificate from his/her country of origin or from the countries where he/she has been living for the last THREE (3) years duly attested by the corresponding Argentine Consulate abroad, o bearing the Apostille, or attested by Consulate of the country of origin in the REPUBLIC OF ARGENTINA;
4. A “No Criminal Records” certificate of the REPUBLIC OF ARGENTINA issued by the ARGENTINE FEDERAL POLICE or by the NATIONAL REGISTER OF RECIDIVISM, MINISTRY OF JUSTICE AND HUMAN RIGHTS;
5. Pay the corresponding migratory fee **
The migratory benefit to be granted shall be a temporary residence for TWO (2) years, pursuant to Section 23, Paragraph l), Act 25871 and the ruling of Resolution DNM Nº 53253 of December 13, 2005.
** The fee, for 6 months, is $ 1000 (Argentine pesos). More than 6 months, $ 2000.
(1) THOSE STAYS FROM SIX MONTHS TO A YEAR SHALL BE CONSIDERED SHORT OR MID-STAYS.
