Noam CHOMSKY dictó una Conferencia en el ámbito de la Catedra UNESCO de la UNLP: “Los DDHH no están en la agenda de la economía mundial, el art. 25 de la carta de los DDHH (Derecho a un nivel de vida adecuado) está en peligro”.
En el día del Trabajo, el primero de mayo pasado, se llevó a cabo la Conferencia internacional con Noam CHOMSKY, uno de los intelectuales más importantes de nuestra época.
La Conferencia fue organizada por la Cátedra UNESCO en “Sistemas Económicos y DDHH” juntos a la Secretaria de Relaciones Institucionales de la UNLP dirigida por el Secretario Dr. Javier Mor Roig que asistió de la misma. Después de los saludos iniciales del Presidente de la Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Prof. Martin López Armengol, hubo una introducción a las temáticas por el Director de la cátedra UNESCO, el Prof. Francesco Vigliarolo que sucesivamente dejó la palabra a Noam CHOMSKY. Con mucha generosidad el famoso lingüista afrontó temas cruciales de nuestra época, cómo el predominio de las finanzas, las políticas imperialistas de los EEUU y como los Derechos Humanos hoy están en fuerte peligro a causa de una economía que busca maximizar solamente las rentas y que no los tiene para nada en su agenda. “De este paso, asistiremos a qué solamente el 1% del mundo se fortalezca y detenga los recursos de los demás ciudadanos del planeta”, afirma CHOMSKY. Entre las tantas temáticas afrontadas, también trató el tema de la inteligencia artificial (IA), respondiendo a una pregunta de un participante, casi 200 de todo el mundo: “El impacto de la IA en el mundo del trabajo es muy fuerte, pero siempre se va a necesitar la intervención del hombre, aunque la tecnología intentará eliminar muchos trabajos”, afirmó CHOMSKY.
De la Conferencia participaron 200 personas de todo el mundo, atentos y deslumbrados por la carismática presencia del catedrático del MIT.

Noam CHOMSKY gave a conference on “Economic Systems and Human Rights: limits and challenges in our time”, within the framework of activities of UNESCO Chair of the UNLP: “Human rights are not on the agenda of the world economy, art. 25 of the Human Rights Declaration (Right to an adequate standard of living) is in danger”.
On Labor Day, the first of May, the International Conference was held with Noam CHOMSKY, one of the most important intellectuals of our time.
The Conference was organized by the UNESCO Chair in “Economic Systems and Human Rights” together with the Secretary for Institutional Relations of the UNLP directed by Secretary Dr. Javier Mor Roig who attended the conference. After the initial greetings from the President of the National University of La Plata, Prof. Martin López Armengol, there was an introduction to the themes by the Director of the UNESCO Chair, Prof. Francesco Vigliarolo who subsequently gave the floor to Noam CHOMSKY. With great generosity, the famous linguist addressed crucial issues of our time, how the predominance of finance, the imperialist policies of the United States and how Human Rights are in great danger today because of an economy that only seeks to maximize income and does not have them on its agenda for nothing. “If we go on, we will assist that only 1% of the world becomes stronger and will own the resources of the 99% of citizens of the planet” says CHOMSKY. Among the many topics addressed, he also addressed of artificial intelligence (AI), responding to a question from a participant, almost 200 from all over the world: “The impact of AI in the world of work is very strong, but human intervention will always be needed, although technology will try to eliminate many jobs”, CHOMSKY said.
200 people from all over the world participated in the Conference, attentive and dazzled by the charismatic presence of the MIT professor.
