Wolfram Elsner

Wolfram Elsner is a Full Professor of Economics (retired) at University of Bremen, Germany. He received his PhD and Venia Legendi (“Habilitation”) at the University of Bielefeld. He worked as a head of regional economic development at city level and Head of Planning of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, State of Bremen, as well as Director of the State’s economic research institute (1986-1995). After his appointment as a professor in 1995, he continued to work as a state advisor for industrial restructuration until 2001. He served as President of the European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE), 2012-2014, 2014-2016. He had an affiliation at the
University of Missouri—Kansas City and has been an associate professor at Jilin University, Changchun, China. He taught and researched at several universities in Europe, USA, Mexico, China, South Africa, and Australia and served on the editorial boards of a number of international scholarly journals and on many committees of heterodox academic associations. He edited books and book series and published numerous articles in international journals and edited volumes. He authored textbooks on complex microeconomics (Edward Elgar, Academic Press/Elsevier), was a managing editor of the Forum for Social Economics 2012-2018 and has been Editor-in-Chief of the Review of
Evolutionary Political Economy since 2018.
